On 23th of March, 2011, RatSWD chairman Prof. Dr. Gert G. Wagner delivered the recommendations of both the working group and the German Data Forum to State Secretary Stefan Kapferer, in the presence of Dr. med. Sabine Luttmann and Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrich Mueller.
Wagner used the the appointment at the Federal Ministry of Health to promote the work of the RatSWD. In future, data on health will become increasingly relevant, also for social research, and will consequently become more relevant for the activities of the German Data Forum.

Growth, wealth and quality of life: the working-paper-series of the German Data Forum will contribute to the discussion - Economic expert Christoph Schmidt will break the first ground.
The German Bundestag has called for an Enquete-Commission on the topic of "Growth, wealth and quality of life". Constisting of 17 delegate members and 17 experts, the commission's prime task is to discuss and develop "alternative indicators of wealth" that could complement or even replace the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a central political variable.
