Past Positions: Research associate, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, University of Mannheim and TU Berlin; Director of the longitudinal study SOEP at the DIW Berlin, since 1989; University Professor, Social Policy and Public Economy, Ruhr-University Bochum; University Professor, Economics, European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder); Member of the KVI and founding member of the RatSWD; Chairman of the RatSWD, 2004-2007.
