Research Data Center PsychData of the Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID)

About Us
The Research Data Centre PsychData at ZPID is a platform for data archiving, data documentation and data exchange tailored to meet the needs of psychological research. PsychData supports psychologists to sustainably store their research data, while making them available to the scientific community according to common standards.

Services
PsychData supports researchers in documenting and archiving research data during and after research projects. A range of manuals, tools and procedures secure sustainable storage and safeguard the data’s long-term interpretability. The metadata are adjusted to the distinct characteristics of psychological data. Contributions of data suppliers are credited by making their datasets citable using DOIs. PsychData takes care of referencing the data in the relevant information systems as well as data access. Services also include information events, conference presentations and user support.

Data
Due to the sensitivity of psychological data, data users and data suppliers enter a data use agreement. If required, the research data may be post-hoc anonymised. The RDC provides access to all kinds of psychological data with a focus on datasets from clinical psychology, developmental psychology, educational psychology, cognitive psychology, personality psychology and gerontopsychology, which were collected in the course of longitudinal studies, large-scale survey studies and development testing. For more information on available datasets in German and English, please visit the PsychData website.

Access Paths
Metadata are openly available online. Access to microdata is strictly subject to a contractual usage agreement. Usage is restricted to scientific research and academic teaching. Information on datasets and legal requirements as well as a data user agreement are available online.
