The 2016 Activities Report gives an overview of the range of services and in-house research activities of the research data centres (RDCs) accredited by the German Data Forum and overarching quality assurance measures. The report is based on an annual reporting system, which all accredited RDCs feed into.
In 2016, then 30 RDCs made a total of 3,214 datasets accessible to science and research – 352 more than the previous year. The RDCs employed 225.7 people (full-time equivalents) and supported the research of 26,281 data users. The comprehensive service portfolio provided by the RDCs are a central research data infrastructure (RDI) for the empirical social, behavioural and economic sciences.
