The Founding Committee of the German Data Forum

The goal of the founding committee of the German Data Forum, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, was the improvement of the data infrastructure for social and economic studies in Germany. The founding committee advised the Federal Ministry of Education and Research on the prioritization of services (e.g., the provision of Scientific Use Files, metadatabase, etc.), gave recommendations on the establishment of research data centres and data service centres, and prepared the establishment of the German Data Forum.
